As an artist, I encourage and build creativity from…myself. What do I mean from this statement?
I want to stretch and explore my own creativity. This is different from learning a technique usually from an external source, in order to work with different mediums. Techniques are important to learn in order to complete certain art forms. For example, when using the encaustic medium, unless using cold wax, the wax must be heated to a certain temperature otherwise it will not set properly. Each technique has it own process and is important to learn.
Your infinite creativity is your fingerprint, and it is ‘perfect’ for you. The more you explore that creativity, the more you express it, and the more you listen to your instinct, the more you will build that creative “muscle” and it is able to grow. Your surrounding, as well as how you treat yourself will effect that creativity therefore it is important to note what and how it reacts. In other words, learn what evokes your emotions. For me; the deep blue sky, the colours of the clear lakes,/oceans/rivers, and the various colours of nature are what feed me creativity.
It is all about believing and trusting in yourself…..your creative self.
