Artist Bio

I am a Canadian mixed media artist, specializing in the abstract world and whose primary objective is to evoke happiness in the eye of the beholder. My work is influenced by my birthplace of Italy, as well as my beloved adopted country of Canada.

My work has been exhibited both locally in the Ottawa area, Canada and internationally; New York, Zürich, Miami, Barcelona, Palma, Basel, Venice. Rome, London, Paris, Berlin, Dubai, and Grenada; as well in a museum in Canada, and a Hallmark movie. Living in Ottawa for most of my life, service to community is also one of my priorities. I advocate for ensuring that the arts are retained in the education system. As well, in order to bring the arts to communities, I have volunteered on several projects now permanently on display in those communities.

Artist Statement

I am inspired by the diverse landscapes, peoples, and climate all around me. In particular, the colours of nature are what guides my brushstrokes. These influences are seen in my encaustic, oil, and mixed media paintings, as well as my stone carvings.

In order to bring the arts to the community as a whole, I enjoy and value exhibiting my work locally and internationally in various multi-purpose venues.

It is important to know that my work's purpose is to evoke an emotion.  As well it is important values their own decision of what the work means to them not what my intent was when I painted the work,

Community Projects/Museum

• Participated in the Art in the Attic 30th Anniversary project that was revealed in May 2020. Hint: the history of Almonte including basketball!! 
• Participated in the Art in the Attic project of Mills of Mississippi presently housed in the Textile Museum in Almonte, Ontario, Canada. Two of my panels as part of a series.
• Participated in various years, three murals presently exhibited in the town of Almonte, Ontario, Canada.
• In partnership with Dovercourt Community Centre and with another artist, we designed and painted a mural in the community pool.
